It was a quick trip, a casual trip, a wanna-be oh-I-do-this-all-the-time-because-I-live-super-close trip.
(Maine is not exactly a hop, skip, and jump away from New York City, but don't let me know that. I am utterly convinced - despite the too-long bus ride - that it is a quick trip. A trip I can make all the time, right?)
So I didn't say much about it and I kind of tiptoed my way in and tiptoed my way out.
But in between?
During those 48 hours I spent in Maine?
Oh, it was the trip of the best sort.
In fact, I was pretty sure my heart was going to burst from happiness.
Maine and I have a bit of a jaded relationship. We're not always the best of friends. But oh, do we know each other. Maine knows me better than I want to admit and I know it better than it wants to admit. We're both a bit stubborn, you see.
But the past weekend I spent in Maine?
Well, it was one of the best. We might have finally hit our stride.
Of course, Nicole and Alivia are two of a handful of people who make time in Maine the best, no matter how Maine and I happen to be getting along at that particular time.
I didn't take a whole lot of photos from the weekend. I was too busy reaching for my friends' hands, sipping margaritas, dancing jumping around, and eating some of the best food around.
But.
I did take some photos of the Common Ground Fair.
Which is hands-down my favorite fair ever and holds some of my favorite memories ever.
This past trip to the fair was no exception.
Oh, it made my heart happy.

It looks like it was a wonderful trip - I've never been before but I do hear that fall is the time to visit
